Cherish the Simple Things
We live in a very busy, hustle-and-bustle type of society, participating in this never ending rat race, for some reason it seems, in an attempt to feel more ahead or fulfilled. Sometimes we forget the most basic and fulfilling things in life are the ones we often take for granted. The simplest of the simplest things like a morning stroll in the park or doing something kind for someone. We can sometimes forget the practices that make us feel more human and connected and replac

Just Keep Shooting; A Portrait Session w/ Carmen
During this photography journey I’ve found myself in this consistent evolving cycle of learning a new technical photography skill, trying my hand at it, failing, trying again, seeking advice, getting better, rinse and repeat. A process I’m sure we all know and understand as creative people in some way, shape, or form. Despite that, it’s always nice when you start to see the fruits of your labor and even nicer when there are people who opt-into becoming part of the journey. I

Chetan vs. the Olympus XA Film Camera
Chetan has been a photographer since 2017 and started shooting film in late 2020 a little while after his father passed away as a way of connecting with him. It wasn’t until he picked up a manual SLR (single lens reflex) camera in 2022 that he truly began to understand the exposure triangle (the relationship between your aperture, shutter speed, and ISO to get a well exposed image) and how film generally behaves. While at the pop-up shop attendees were able to purchase and learn how to grow them at home. Going to this event added a differe

Rob & Street Photography in NoDa
Rob and some friends headed to NoDa for some adventurous street photography starting with an exciting interaction at Zämbies Pizza to a visit to the fire station. Rob used his Fujifilm XE5 camera with a 20mm F2 lens. His aperture stayed around F2-4 with a shutter speed of 1/125 and ISO 400-2000. It was an overcast Saturday around 7pm. Street photography is the art of watching and noticing. Sometimes passively interacting with others and being ready to snap a photo at any mom
